28 NovPuke green dress (my mother INSISTS that I wear it in a beauty pageant)?

I have two options, a puke green dress or a pink one.

Everyone LOVES the puke green one (I HATE it).

It’s hideous to ME, but everyone else says I would win if I wore it in the pageant.

What should I do?
No, I don’t have a pic., but it’s really ugly.

If you wear something you’re not going to be comfortable in then you won’t win because you won’t have the confidence.

Wear what you’ll feel good in.

Do you have any pictures of the dresses?

Honestly, just wear whichever one YOU like. If you feel confident, you’re more likely to win.

Unless you paid for the dress and whatever other fees were associated with this pageant.. suck it up and do what you’re told.

take a photo of both dresses on YOU with your hair done. if you want to win pick the best looking on YOU. even if you don’t like it…if it truely looks bad…your mom will tell by looking at the pic.

Well, if everyone thinks you’ll win in that dress, then maybe you could try added accessories to make it extra special. Maybe some green and gold jewelry or something. Also, find a pair of really beautiful shoes that will make the dress look "to die for". That should help. Otherwise, if you could get a pc, that would be helpful, if you need more ideas :)

Take a picture and post so we can tell you for sure – just from you saying it’s ugly doesn’t help us to decide.

Ugh… this is a toughie! I’ve been there!

Sometimes, you see something on a hanger and think, "Oh my God, that’s hideous," but when you put it on, sometimes it really does make you look amazing. Just like you can love something on a hanger, and hate it when it’s on your body. And your favorite colors aren’t always the ones that make you look the best.

Before you rule out the green dress, you need to consider your hair, eye and skin color, the age division, and color psychology. Green sends a different message to the judges than pink. Plus, if you’re a pre-teen or teen, the green may make you stand out more than the pink, which is a pretty popular color in the younger divisions.

That said, the last thing you need in a pageant is changing who you are to please people. Pageants are about being yourself – and being an individual. You have to go with your gut on this one. You’re the one that has to wear the dress, and beyond that, you need to radiate that you are confident in the dress. So you need to wear the gown that makes you feel like a queen. Judges know that you can change the dress on the girl for the next level, but you can’t change the confidence. The dress doesn’t win the pageant – YOU do.

    Good luck!

Wear the pink one. Although I haven’t seen the green one, and I might really like it, what matters is that YOU don’t like it. The pageant is about you– not the dress. No matter how good the dress looks on you, the dress alone is not going to win the pageant. It might win Best Fashion, but it won’t get you the crown. You need to feel confident, and your confidence needs to shine through so that the judges can see it. If you’re wearing a dress you hate, you won’t feel that confidence that you need. Dresses never win pageants… girls do.

I can’t imagine why everyone is pressuring you to wear a dress you don’t like, even if they love it, as they seem to do. That’s just cruel. If you like the pink one, wear it. If not, look for another dress. Maybe you can borrow one from a friend or rent one, and then you won’t have to pay a lot more money, if that’s why everyone wants you to wear one of the dresses that you already have. Be assertive! Pageants are about you, and you need to wear a dress that you adore. I hope this helps. No matter what happens, good luck at your pageant, and have fun!!
