Hello, the majority of companies trading in the UK have an environmental policy, this is part of the good corporate citizenship initiative. Most will also have some degree of sustainable development understanding and appropriate practices in place. Currently, among the ‘greenest’ of the cosmetic manufacturers are Aveda and Origins, who both seem genuinely committed to the preservation of the earth and actively work towards protecting the environment.
There are lots of guides, bodies, and institutes that will also be able to tell you more about who does what, try WRAP, London Remade, and the EA to start. Also, here’s a couple of articles and a site that makes ‘green’ consumer recommendations:
